Hello everyone,
How are you all doing? Hope everything’s going fine. Our previous update was one of the key updates in the history of Sacred Fire. It announced the delivery of the Early Preview to the Firestarter (and higher tier) backers.
Since then we’ve received a ton of incredibly useful and enthusiastic feedback. The average score was 8.444444, which is massive (and unnecessarily precise). Thanks to everyone who participated at the initial phase which helped us to fine tune the gameplay and make additional improvements. We’ve even added a brand new scene (see below).
But before I list the improvements and let you know about the latest version of Sacred Fire, here’s some of our favorite feedback from you, our favorite people.
Your feedback
“I enjoyed it a lot, amazing job! It was everything I expected and even more. Can’t wait for the full and polished version.”
“The overall impression from the preview was very good (except for seeing the anger bar filling up which was frustrating and very immersive). … Keep up the good work.”
“It’s really coming along great so far. Other than a few pathing bugs or odd text issues, it seems in good shape as well. And most importantly, it’s staying true to the really novel, interesting concept that you started out from. Proud to be a backer!”
Improvements
We’re about to release v0.0.3 to the Firestarter (and higher tier) backers. Here’s what we fixed and improved between v0.0.1 and v0.0.3:
- 1 completely new scene Escape Pursuers,
- Level Up and Rank Up rewards at the end of the chapter,
- 3 strike rule: pay 1 motivation point for failing 3 times at a choice check,
- faster pace of combat in the duel,
- easter eggs counter,
- scene progress counter,
- Roman reinforcements counter,
- choice unlocking icon,
- emotion extremes in combat fix (control charges not available),
- fixed risk chain bonus tooltips,
- rebalanced game progression (character level, rank and relationship),
- rebalanced game difficulty (control charges limited by character level),
- improved adventure mode for a casual player (with simplified relationship model),
- new choices in the story,
- accessibility tweaks (UI, tooltips),
- dozens of bugs brutally murdered.

Check out this fine piece by Aleksandar Perišić. How do you like his rendering of Wid?
That’s it for today. If you feel like you might enjoy playing Sacred Fire now but you’re not in the Firestarter or the higher tiers, you can upgrade your pledge at https://sacredfiregame.com/upgrade-your-pledge/.
Thank you!
